Mike De Souza continues his great work for Canadian Press digging up info on the Harper government’s deliberate and planned assaults on legislation and regulations designed to protect the environment and the health of Canadians. Who’s in favour of more water pollution? Weaker endangered species laws sound good? Turns out this was all in the name of pipeline development for Alberta’s tar sands.

Did you know the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has cancelled nearly 3,000 environmental assessments as a result of the new legislation, including about 250 reviews of projects involving a pipeline?
